ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for simultaneously heat treating and galvanizing a steel ligature in which method the ligature is continuously advanced into contact with and past an electrical conductor and into and through a bath of molten zinc while an electric current passes through said ligature between said electrical conductor and said bath. The invention also provides a unique product with enhanced elongation and bend properties and decreased proportion of pearlite. The product also has a superior zinc coating with uniformly excellent adhesion to its steel substrate.
