HEAT TREATMENT METHOD FOR REDUCING POLYTHIONIC ACID STRESS CORROSION CRACKING ABSTRACT A heat treatment of alloy 617 generally including 732°C-927°C (1350°F-1700°F) for about one hour. The resultant discontinuous carbide network in the grain boundaries inhibits stress corrosion crack growth in polythionic acid environments.
