"HEAT TREATMENT OF LIQUIDS" ABSTRACT A vacuum vessel with heating jacket around its upper part is fed at one or more nozzles with a coherent or atomised stream(s) of heated liquid e.g. waste oil which impinges generally tangentially on its inner surface. Flash evaporation takes place, together with further evaporation from the liquid running around and down the internal vessel wall to the pool of residual liquid in the base of the vessel. Baffles protect large axial vapour outlet from carryout of liquid droplets. The vapour is condensed in a large-diameter large-surface condenser connected to a vacuum pump for the system and liquid collects at a Receiver an Offtake pipe recycles residual liquid to the nozzle as rapid preheat to a new feed from
