A B S T R A C T An electric heating element is used for heating a handle of a hand tool such as a motor saw, said handle comprising a handle tube (19) and a sleeve (21) of elastomer mounted thereon. In order to avoid dlversion of heat by the handle tube, the heating element comprises an elongated metal body (11) pro- vided with electric resistance conductors and inserted into an elongated cavity (21) provided in the sleeve and extending in parallel with the handle tube.
