Described is a heatable rearview minor (2), especially for motor vehicles, with at least one minor pane (8) held in a minor housing and at least one heating element (14, 16) for mirror pane (8), said element being in the form of a surface heating element, which is activated by a thermostat. In this arrangement, upon the activation of the heating element, at least one display element (40) is activated, which is visible in the mirror (2) in direct front view.
