ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved control for maintaining a substantially constant temperature at the contact arc or nip defined by pressure heated fusing rolls. A sensing device senses the surface temperature of each of the rolls and supplies signals to a control circuit which combines the signals in a parallel resistance network. An output signal is supplied to electrical heating elements associated with at least one of the rolls to maintain a constant temperature at the nip.
