An integrated heating and cooling system for a living space of a building is disclosed. The system connects together (a) a solar-based heating and cooling system and (b) heating and cooling systems that rely directly or indirectly on fossil fuels that are conventionally used in buildings. The system operates the solar-based heating and cooling system preferentially to heat or cool the living space. Therefore, the system minimises the use of fossil fuels to heat and cool the living space.

L'invention porte sur un système de chauffage et refroidissement intégré pour espace à vivre d'un bâtiment. Ledit système combine: (a) un chauffage et un système de refroidissement solaires; et (b) des systèmes de chauffage et refroidissement recourant directement ou indirectement aux combustibles fossiles conventionnellement utilisés dans des bâtiments. Le système exploite le chauffage et le système de refroidissement solaires préférentiellement pour chauffer ou rafraîchir l'espace à vivre et réduit donc au minimum l'utilisation des combustibles fossiles.
