This invention relates to a method of heating a surface by means of a wire mesh or netting heating element which is spread evenly over or just under an area to be heated, and through which an electrical current is driven. The method comprises connecting the two ends of the heating element to the secondary terminals of a transformer, which converts the supply voltage to a low and safe level.
