The invention relates to a heating appliance (10) for railway vehicles, comprising at least one heating unit (25), forming a load-bearing sandwich structure (12) together with edge profiles (13 to 16) and a core layer (36). According to the invention, a plurality of heating units (25) and sandwich structures (12) each form modular construction components (11) and the construction components (11) can be positioned and fixed relative to each other in the railway vehicle by means of fastener elements (40).
