A heating chamber for maintaining processed foods warm for extended periods while not sacrificing food quality or causing a secular change in the chamber's insulating member. The heating chamber has side walls formed by outer and inner walls made of relatively high heat conducting material, an insulating member interposed between these walls, insulating paper interposed between the insulating member and one side of the inner walls, insulating shield panels mounted on the opposite side of the inner walls, each of the shield panels being a laminate of a second insulating member made of material such as styrene or urethane and a third insulating member made of material such as polyethylene, heater guard frames each presenting a flattened U-shaped cross-section, and a ceramic panel heater mounted on the inner side of each heater guard frame, wherein each of the heater guard frames is mounted on the chamber's inner wall such that each encloses a shield panel while maintaining an air gap between the shield panel and its associated ceramic panel heater. Heat emitted from the ceramic panel heater is transferred through the air gap, the shield panel, the inner wall of the chamber, the insulating paper and to the insulating member so that a thermal affection on this insulating member may be effectively alleviated. The ceramic panel in each heater guard frame is divided, if desired, into a plurality of sections which are in a column, thereby allowing the temperature within the heating chamber to be maintained uniform.
Compartiment servant à garder chauds des aliments préparés durant des périodes prolongées, sans nuire à leur qualité ni entraîner un changement séculaire de l'élément isolant du compartiment. Ce dernier comprend : des parois latérales externes et internes d'un matériau conducteur de températures relativement hautes; un élément isolant interposé entre ces parois; un papier isolant interposé entre l'élément isolant et un côté des parois internes; des panneaux d'écran isolant montés sur le côté opposé des parois internes, chacun de ces panneaux étant un laminé d'un second élément isolant d'un matériau comme le styrène ou l'uréthane et d'un troisième élément isolant d'un matériau comme le polyéthylène; des cadres de protection du dispositif de chauffage présentant chacun une section transversale en U aplatie; un panneau chauffant en céramique monté sur le côté interne de chaque cadre de protection du dispositif de chauffage, chacun de ces cadres étant monté sur la paroi interne du compartiment de sorte qu'il entoure un écran isolant tout en maintenant une fente de circulation d'air entre le panneau isolant et son dispositif de chauffage de panneau en céramique associé. La chaleur émise par le panneau chauffant en céramique est transférée par la fente, le panneau isolant, la paroi interne du compartiment et le papier isolant vers l'élément isolant, afin d'atténuer efficacement l'effet thermique sur cet élément isolant. Le panneau en céramique dans chaque cadre de protection peut être divisé en plusieurs sections en colonne, ce qui permet de maintenir une température uniforme à l'intérieur du compartiment de chauffage.
