A tool for defrosting the frozen earth for the purpose of trench excavation, bulk excavation or any excavation projects for use during winter or frozen conditions. It consists of a cable with a series of heating elements connected in parallel, the elements may be removable and the spacing between the elements may be made to vary depending on specific site conditions. This tool contains no mechanical parts subject to wear or breakage and can be left unsupervised to obtain a prepared work site for the next day. Once initially set-up it can be left unsupervised eliminating paid man-hours used in traditional methods.
