The heat management fluid or coolant of an internal combustion engine is flowed past an electric heating element (30) powered with DC current from the engine battery (42). The element quickly realizes a temperature of approximately 150° C. The heat management fluid flowing in contact with the heating element is heated before being supplied to the passenger comfort heater core (32). This brings warm air quickly to the passenger compartment or cabin, and also assists in the rapid warm up of the engine. A housing (32) for the heating element (30) has ports (36) for fitting to a transected heater hose (24).
Selon l'invention, le fluide de gestion de chaleur ou le fluide de refroidissement d'un moteur à combustion interne est amené à s'écouler au-delà d'un élément chauffant électrique (30) alimenté en courant continu par la batterie de moteur (42). L'élément atteint rapidement une température d'approximativement 150 °C. Le fluide de gestion de chaleur s'écoulant en contact avec l'élément chauffant est chauffé avant d'être délivré au radiateur de chauffage de confort de passager (32). Ceci amène de l'air chaud rapidement au compartiment ou à la cabine de passager, et aide également au préchauffage rapide du moteur.
