ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A heating unit in the form of a solid fuel-burning combustion-controlled stove or furnace. The unit has a closed stove body and a rearwardly positioned baffle which extends down- wardly from the top of the stove bottom to a distance spaced above the bottom of the stove. The lowermost portion of the stove body forms a firepot area and a double-walled air intake chamber sur- rounds the sides and rear of the firepot area, and a horizontal row of holes is provided along the inner side walls of the air intake chamber and it is through these holes that the air for combustion enters the firepot area. Some of the holes are posi- tioned rearwardly of the baffle, and the air entering these holes mixes with the smoke and gases of combustion to enhance the com- bustion thereof.
