The invention concerns a tyre with radial carcass reinforcement designed to equip a heavy vehicle such as a transport vehicle or a civil engineering machine. In concerns in particular a tyre having an axial width greater than 37 inches. The inventive tyre comprises a working crown reinforcement (20), consisting of at least two continuous plies (15, 16) formed with reinforcing elements crisscrossed from one layer to the next forming with the circumferential direction angles ranging between 10 and 35·, which is completed on each side of the circumferential median plane by at least three other half-plies (17, 18, 19) whereof the reinforcing elements form with the circumferential direction angles ranging between 10 and 40·, the half-ply (18) extending axially outermost being in contact with at least two other half-plies (17, 19) of the working crown and the three half-plies (17, 18, 19) radially overlapping the axially outermost ends of at least two continuous working crown plies (15, 16).

L'invention concerne un pneumatique à armature de carcasse radiale destiné à équiper un véhicule lourd tel qu'un véhicule de transport ou un engin de « Génie Civil ». Il s'agit notamment d'un pneumatique qui présente une largeur axiale supérieure à 37 pouces. Le pneumatique selon l'invention comporte une armature de sommet de travail (20), constituée d'au moins deux nappes continues (15, 16) formées d'éléments de renforcement croisés d'une nappe à la suivante en faisant avec la direction circonférentielle des angles compris entre 10 et 35~, qui est complétée de chaque côté du plan médian circonférentiel par au moins trois demi-nappes (17, 18, 19) dont les éléments de renforcement font avec la direction circonférentielle des angles compris entre 10 et 40~, la demi-nappe (18) s'étendant axialement le plus vers l'extérieur étant au contact d'au moins deux autres demi-nappes (17, 19) de sommet de travail et les trois demi-nappes (17, 18, 19) recouvrent, radialement, les extrémités axialement extérieures d'au moins deux nappes de sommet de travail continues (15, 16).
