ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A work surface is specially designed for use with a computer terminal by providing a separate and movable monitor support portion within the work surface movable relative to the work surface in a parallel manner for adjusting the height of the monitor support thereon. With this arrangement, the end user may personalize the work surface according to her/his own requirements. A number of work surfaces already have height adjustable keyboard support arrangements which recognize that the height for typing is separate and distinct from the normal work surface height for writing. The present invention recognizes that the computer monitor, which is supported on a work surface, has its own preferred position which again is separate and distinct from the height of the work surface. In this way, the end user may either lower or raise the computer monitor by means of adjusting the height of the computer monitor support and thereby customize her/his work environment to her/his own needs.
