Disclosed herein is an air vent mechanism for a helmet. The air vent mechanism includes a helmet having a top portion thereof with an opening in fluid communication with the inside thereof. A door member is pivotally mounted about the opening between a closed position for sealing the opening and at least one open position providing for air to enter the helmet.
