A protective helminth parasite antigen which is characterised by processing aminopeptidase-like activity and which, in native form, is an integral membrane protein associated with the gut microvilli of a non-obligate blood feeding helminth parasite, or a functionally- equivalent variant, antigenic fragment or precursor thereof methods for its perparation, vaccine compositions containing it and its use in stimulating an immune response against hellminth parasites in a humam or non-human animal.

L'invention concerne un antigène qui protège contre les parasites helminthiques, est caractérisé en ce qu'il possède une activité du type aminopeptidase, et est sous sa forme native une protéine membranaire intrinsèque associée aux microvillosités de l'intestin d'un parasite helminthique non systématiquement hématophage, ou bien une variante fonctionnellement équivalente, un fragment ou un précurseur antigénique de cette protéine; l'invention concerne également des procédés de préparation dudit antigène, des compositions vaccinales le contenant, ainsi que son utilisation pour stimuler une réponse immune dirigée contre les parasites helminthiques chez l'homme ou chez l'animal.
