It is disclosed herein that protein C functions as a hemostatic agent. Thus, provided is a method of preventing, treating or ameliorating abnormal bleeding in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a protein C polypeptide or polynucleotide. Abnormal bleeding can result from a bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia or a platelet disorder, or from a bleeding episode, such as from a traumatic injury.
L'invention concerne la protéine C fonctionnant comme un agent hémostatique. Ainsi, il est proposé un procédé de prévention, traitement ou amélioration d'un saignement anormal chez un sujet, comprenant l'administration au sujet d'un polypeptide ou polynucléotide de protéine C. Le saignement normal peut résulter d'un trouble de saignement, tel qu'une hémophilie ou un trouble plaquettaire, ou d'un épisode de saignement, tel que provenant d'une lésion traumatique.
