The present invention relates generally to a composition for the treatment or prophylaxis of allergic and inflammatory reactions such as but not limited to Type I hypersensitivity reactions in mammals. More particularly, the present invention is directed to compositions comprising herbs or extracts of herbs or botanical or horticultural equivalents of the herbs or chemical or functional equivalents of the herbal extracts useful in the treatment or prophylaxis of allergic and inflammatory reactions such as but not limited to respiratory disorders. The present invention further contemplates a method of treating allergic and inflammatory reactions in mammals and in particular Type I hypersensitivity disorders and even more particularly respiratory disorders by the administration of a herbal composition or its chemical or functional equivalent.
Cette invention concerne en général une composition pour le traitement ou la prophylaxie de réactions allergiques et inflammatoires telles que, mais pas uniquement, des réactions d'hypersensibilité de type I chez les mammifères. Plus précisément, l'invention traite de compositions renfermant des herbes médicinales ou des extraits de ces herbes, des équivalents botaniques ou horticoles, ou bien des équivalents chimiques ou fonctionnels desdits extraits d'herbes, qui conviennent pour le traitement ou la prophylaxie de réactions allergiques et inflammatoires telles que des troubles respiratoires, notamment. De plus, cette invention concerne une méthode de traitement des réactions allergiques et inflammatoires chez les mammifères, en particulier des troubles d'hypersensibilité de type I, et notamment des troubles respiratoires, par l'administration d'une composition phytothérapeutique ou son équivalent chimique ou fonctionnel.
