1-Alkenyltetrazolinones represented by the formula: Image (I) wherein R1 represents the group: Image or the group: Image R2 and R3, independently of one another, represent C1-6 alkyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl which may optionally be substited by methyl, C2-4 alkenyl, C2-5 alkynyl, phenyl which may optionally be substituted or aralkyl which may option- ally be substituted, or R2 and R3 may optionally form, together with the N-atom to which they are bonded, a heterocyclic ring which may optionally be substituted. The compounds exhibit a strong herbicidal activity and are useful as herbicides.
