Abstract HERBICIDAL 1-ARYL-.DELTA.2-1,2,4-TRIAZOLIN-5-ONES Novel aryltriazolinone compounds of the formula Image in which R is a radical selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, 1-methylethyl, methoxymethyl, 2-methoxyethyl, 1-methyl-2-methoxy- ethyl, 2-propenyl, 2-propynyl, and 1-methyl-2- propynyl have herbicidal utility against a variety of grassy and broadleaf weeds in both preemergence and postemergence applications and show a selec- tivity favorable to cotton in preemergence appli- cations.
