A method is provided for controlling weeds resistant to acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicides that includes applying to the locus where control is desired a herbicidally effective amount of a compound of formula I (see above formula) wherein R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is CF3; and R3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, or its agriculturally useful salts.
