ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a herbicidal agent comprising haloacetanilides in combinaison with an antagonistic agent selected among tetrahydro-1,3-oxazines of the formula Image where R denotes linear or branched haloalkyl of up to 3 carbon atoms, R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are identical or different and each denotes hydrogen or linear or branched alkyl of up to 3 carbon atoms, R6 denotes hydrogen or linear or branched alkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms, R7 denotes hydrogen, linear or branched alkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl of up to 6 carbon atoms or dialkoxyalkyl of up 8 carbon atoms, and R6 and R7 may together form a methylene chain of 4 or 5 carbon atoms. The inventIon also relates to a process for the selective control of unwanted plants in Indian corn and cereal crops using the herbicidal agent of the invention.
