-1- SPECIFICATION Title of the Invention: Herbicidal Composition Abstract: Disclosed herein is a herbicidal composition which contains as an active ingredient a compound represented by the following general formula: Image wherein M means an alkali metal. The above compound, which is used as an active ingredient in the present invention, can exhibit excellent weed-controlling effects not only in pre- emergence applications but also in post-emergence applications. It is a remarkable herbicide especially for its extremely-high safety to broad-leaved crops such as soybean and its outstanding controlling effects against broad-leaved weeds such as cocklebur (Xanthium strumarium) and morningglory (Ipomoea purpurea) which are highly noxious weeds.
