ABSTRACT A HERBICIDAL COMPOSITION A herbicidal composition contains a compound of the formula: Image wherein X is a hydroxyl group or a hydroxylamino group, R is a hydrogen atom, an inorganic counter cation, an organic counter cation or an ester residue and n is an integer of 1 to 3, and an inert carrier or diluent. The composition is applied by foliar or soil treatment. The composition is effective, for example, broad- leafed weeds, gramineous weeds or Cyperaceous weeds.
