ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds of the formula (I) Image wherein R is halogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, halo-(C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy, halo(C1-C4)alkoxy, phenyl, -NO2, -NH2 or -CN; R' is (C1-C4)alkyl or halogen; n is an integer of from 1 to 3 with the proviso that, if R is halogen and n is 1, R occupies the ortho- or meta- position in the phenyl ring; n1 is zero or an integer of from 1 to 3; Y is (C1-C6)alkylene and X is -COOH, -COO-(C1-C8)alkyl, -CONH2, -CONH-NH2, -CN or -COO-Cat, "Cat" being the cation of an inorganic or organic base, are useful as selective grass herbicides.
