ABSTRACT Herbicidal compositions comprising (a) bromoxynil and (b) a 2-benzoylcyclohexane-1,3-dione derivative of general formula I: Image I wherein (i) Z represents the hydrogen atom; R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each represents the hydrogen atom or the methyl group, R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, each represents the hydrogen atom or the methyl group, X represents the chlorine atom or the nitro group, Y represents the methylsulphonyl or trifluoromethyl group; or (ii) Z represents the chlorine atom; R1, R2, R3 and R4 each represent the hydrogen atom, X represents the chlorine atom; and Y represents the methylsulphonyl group; salts thereof with agriculturally acceptable basis and their use in controlling weeds is described.
