A herbicidal composition is provided which comprises: an aqueous solution of a herbicidally acceptable salt of N-phosphonomethylglycine; a quaternary ammonium compound represented by the formula Image wherein each A represents an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, R1 and R2 are each independently an alkyl or alkanol group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R3 is an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a group having the formula (AO)m-H; n (in a compound in which R3 is an alkyl group) or n + m (in a compound in which R3 is a group having the formula (AO)m-H), has a value of from 2 to 15; and X is a halide or phosphate; and a glycol selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol, and polypropylene glycol having an average molecular weight up to about 1000; wherein the weight ratio of N-phosphonomethylglycine to the quaternary ammonium compound is between about 1:5 to about 5:1; and the weight ratio of glycol to the quaternary ammonium compound is between about 1:40 and about 1:2 at a pH between pH 4 and pH 7 to provide a clear solution.
L'invention porte sur une composition herbicide renfermant : une solution aqueuse d'un sel de N-phosphonométhylglycine de qualité herbicide; un ammonium quaternaire représenté par la formule Image , où chaque A représente un groupe alkylène de 2 ou 3 atomes de carbone, R1 et R2 sont chacun indépendamment un groupe alkyle ou alcanol, comptant de 1 à 3 atomes de carbone; R3 est un alkyle de 1 à 3 atomes de carbone ou un groupe de formule (AO)m-H; n (dans un composé où R3 est un groupe alkyle) ou n + m (dans un composé où R3 est un groupe de formule (AO)m-H), ont une valeur de 2 à 15; X est un halogénure ou un phosphate; un glycol choisi parmi le propylèneglycol et le polypropylèneglycol de masse moléculaire moyenne pouvant aller jusqu'à 1000 environ; le rapport massique du N-phosphonométhylglycine sur l'ammonium quaternaire se situe dans une plage de 1:5-5:1 environ; le rapport massique du glycol sur l'ammonium quaternaire se situe dans une plage d'environ 1:40-1:2, à un pH de 4 à 7 pour l'obtention d'une solution transparente.
