ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention as disclosed provides novel diphenyl ethers having the formula Image wherein X is a hydrogen, atom, a halogen atom, a (C1-C4) alkyl group, a cyano group, or a trifluoromethyl group, Y is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, R1 is a hydrogen atom or a (C1-C4)alkyl group, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a (C1-C4)alkyl group, R3 is a hydrogen atom or a (C1-C4)alkyl group, m is an integer of from 1 to 50, and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6, n' is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6, wherein the sum of n and n' is an integer of 2 to 6. These compounds are useful as herbicides.
