ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is disclosed for selectively controlling the growth of weeds after their emergence in a brassica crop which comprises applying to the crop area an alkyl ester of 4-chloro-2-oxobenzothiazolin-3-ylacetic acid at a rate sufficient to control the weeds but avoiding permanent damage to the crop.
