ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention discloses new herbicidally active tri- azine compounds of the formula Image (I) wherein R represents hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl which is unsubstituted or sub- stituted by cyano, hydroxy, C1-C4 alkoxy, cyclopropyl, methylcyclopropyl, cyclopropylnethyl, or a radical Image ; wherein R1 represents hydrogen or methyl, X represents chlorine, methoxy, methylthio, azido or cyano and Y represents a halogen atom. These compounds are particularly useful for controlling weeds in rice crops.
