The present invention relates to a method of selectively controlling weeds at a locus comprising crop plants and weeds, wherein the method comprises application to the locus of a weed controlling amount of an aqueous spray composition comprising a compound of formula (I) wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of C1-C6alkyl, C2-C6alkenyl, C2- C6haloalkenyl, C2-C6alkynyl, C2-C6haloalkynyl, C3-C6cycloalkyl, C1- C6haloalkyl, C1- C6alkoxy-C1-C6alkyl and C1-C6alkoxy-C1- C6alkoxy-C1-C4alkyl; and R2 is C1-C6haloalkyl; or an agriculturally acceptable salt therefore; wherein in the pH of the spray com- position is from about 5 to about 9. The invention further relates to a liquid substantially non-aqueous herbicide composition com- prising a compound of formula (I) as defined above and a pH adjuster, and to the use of a pH adjuster to reduce the phytotoxicity of a compound of formula (I) in crop plants.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de lutter de manière sélective contre des plantes nuisibles sur un site abritant des plantes cultivées et des plantes nuisibles. Le procédé consiste à appliquer sur le site une certaine quantité dune composition aérosol en phase aqueuse destinée à la lutte contre les plantes nuisibles et qui contient un composé représenté par la formule (I) : dans laquelle R1 est choisi dans le groupe constitué par les groupes alkyle en C1-C6, alcényle en C2-C6, haloalcényle en C2-C6, alcynyle en C2-C6, haloalcynyle en C2-C6, cycloalkyle en C3-C6, haloalkyle en C1-C6, (alcoxy en C1-C4)-(alkyle en C1-C4) et (alcoxy en C1-C4)-(alcoxy en C1-C4)-(alkyle en C1-C4) ; et R2 représente un groupe haloalkyle en C1-C6 ; ou un sel de qualité agricole de cette composition, le pH de la composition aérosol étant d'environ 5 à environ 9. Linvention concerne en outre une composition herbicide liquide sensiblement non aqueuse contenant un composé représenté par la formule (I), telle que définie ci-dessus, et un correcteur d'acidité, ainsi que l'utilisation dun correcteur d'acidité pour réduire la phytotoxicité dun composé représenté par la formule (I) vis-à-vis de plantes cultivées.
