This invention relates to a series of heterocyclic substituted piperazines of Formula (I) pharmaceutical compositions containing them and intermediates used in their manufacture. The compounds of the invention selectively inhibit binding to the .alpha.-la adrenergic receptor, a receptor which has been implicated in benign prostatic hyperplasia. As such the compounds are potentially useful in the treatment of this disease.
Cette invention concerne un ensemble de pipérazines substituées hétérocycliques représentées par la formule (I), des compositions pharmaceutiques les renfermant et des intermédiaires utilisés dans leur production. Les composés de l'invention inhibent sélectivement la liaison au récepteur adrénergique .alpha.-1a, récepteur ayant été impliqué dans l'hyperplasie prostatique bénigne. En tant que tels, ces composés sont potentiellement utiles pour le traitement de cette maladie.
