Abstract of the Disclosure A compound of the formula Image wherein M denotes a divalent transition metal A denotes an alkylene residue having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms or an isocyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic residue; R is an alkyl residue having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aryl residue having from 6 to 10 carbon atoms or an aralkyl residue having from 7 to 10 carbon atoms; and X and Y can be the same or different and each is hydrogen, halogen or a non-water solubilising group or X and Y together form an aromatic or heterocyclic residue, is useful for pigmenting high molecular weight organic materials.
