The present invention relates to compounds of the formula Image to pharmaceutical compositions containing them and to their medicinal use wherein A is a substituted pyridinyl; R1 is hydrogen, formyl, halo, cyano, nitro, amido or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, amino, heteroaryl, heterocycle, aryl, carbocycle; R3 is a substituted thio, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, amino or an azido; R5 is hydrogen, halo, cyano, amino, formyl, hydroxy, mercapto, or a substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, carbocycle or aryl; and R6 is optionally substituted or fused phenyl, carbocycle or heterocycle. The compounds of the invention are useful in the treatment of inflammation and other inflammation associated disorders, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, colon cancer and Alzheimer's disease, in mammals (preferably humans, dogs, cats and livestock).
