Polypeptide compositions comprising two distinct subunits which can form .alpha.-helical coiled-coil heterodimers are described. The two subunits can each have a different compound or bioactive moiety attached in a precisely-defined orientation and stoichiometry. In one embodiment of the invention, the polypeptide composition serves as a synthetic vaccine formulation having a B-cell antigen attached to one subunit, and a T-cell antigen attached to the other subunit.

L'invention concerne des compositions de polypeptide comprenant deux sous-unités pouvant former des hétérodimères hélicoïdaux .alpha. bispiralés. Ces deux sous-unités peuvent présenter chacune un composé différent ou une fraction bioactive fixés dans une orientation et une stoechiométrie définies avec précision. Selon un mode de réalisation de l'invention, la composition de polypeptide sert de formulation de vaccin synthétique comportant un antigène de lymphocyte B fixé à une sous-unité, et un antigène de lymphocyte T fixé à l'autre sous-unité.
