ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE . Apparatus of the present invention is used for treating heterogenous shreddable material delivered to a substantially horizont- ally disposed bin including a longitudinally disposed slotted shear plate attached to the inside of the bin. The apparatus further includes an auger traversing and bearingly located in the bin, a rever- sible drive to the auger which includes a plurality of discontinuous flights, an individual primary cutter to each of the flights with each primary cutter rotating in a corresponding one of the slots of the plate and the reversing auger and the primary cutters co-operating with the shear plate to mix, crush and shear the material.
