- 1 - Abstract The invention concerns a novel process for preparing hexahydroazepine, piperidine and pyrrolidines of formula (I) Image where n is 2,3 or 4, R1 is lower alkyl, R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, aryl(lower)alkyl, lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl and R8 is hydrogen or lower alkyl from compounds of formula Image where n and R1 are as above and R is hydrogen, lower alkyl or aryl(lower)alkyl. The products have pharmacological activity, particularly analgesic activity.
