Disclosed is a combined antenna and helicopter rotor blade 101. The antenna comprises one or more electrically non-conductive rotor blades 101, each having an electrical conductor 210, 310 positioned parallel to the major axis of a respective rotor blade 101. A connection means 410, 412, 510, 521, 620, 623 is provided to connect the antenna to apparatus for the reception or transmission of radio waves which is located in the fuselage 102. Also disclosed is a communications system including apparatus for the transmission or reception of radio waves.
