The invention provides compositions for providing body, fullness and texture to otherwise fine or very fine keratinous fibers, particularly human hair. The compositions of the present invention have a high pH, e.g., about 8 to about 10 when the compositions contain cationic polymer, and a pH of about 8 to about 14, preferably about 8.5 to about 13, and more preferably, about 8.5 to about 10 when the compositions contain no cationic polymer. The compositions include one or more nonionic and/or cationic polymers, which, in combination with the high pH of the composition, lift the hair cuticle and allow the deposition of polymer, thus resulting in increased fullness and texture to the hair. The compositions of the present invention may be in the form of known hair care products such as, for example, shampoos, rinses and conditioners. In addition, the compositions can be formulated, for example, as lotions or creams, and the like, for consumer use. The hair care compositions of the present invention provide beneficial and long-lasting effects of body and fullness within a minute or less after application to the hair.
La présente invention concerne des compositions conférant du volume, du corps et une belle texture à des fibres kératiniques fines ou très fines, et en particulier aux cheveux humains. Les compositions de cette invention possèdent un fort pH, par exemple, compris entre environ 8 et environ 10 lorsque ces compostions renferment un polymère cationique, et un pH compris entre environ 8 et environ 14, de préférence entre environ 8,5 et environ 13, et plus préférablement entre environ 8,5 et environ 10, lorsque ces compositions ne renferment pas de polymère cationique. Par ailleurs, ces compositions renferment un ou plusieurs polymères non ioniques et/ou cationiques, qui, en association avec le fort pH de la composition, décollent les cuticules des cheveux et permettent le dépôt du polymère, conférant ainsi aux cheveux plus de volume et de corps. Par ailleurs, les compositions de cette invention peuvent se présenter sous la forme de produits de soins classiques, tels que les shampooings, les rinçages traitants et les après-shampoings. De plus, ces compositions peuvent être formulées, par exemple, comme des lotions ou des crèmes, conçues pour l'usage des consommateurs. Enfin, les compositions de soins capillaires de la présente invention produisent sur les cheveux des effets bénéfiques et durables en matière de volume et de corps une minute ou moins après leur application sur les cheveux.
