The present invention is intended to provide a high carbon bearing steel, for bearing parts, excellent in rolling fatigue characteristics. A high carbon bearing steel having a long life comprising 0.70 to 1.20% of C, 0.15 to 1.70% of Si, 0.15 to 1.20% of Mn, 0.50 to 2.00% of Cr, 0.05 to 1.50% of Mo, 0.001 to 0.03% of S, 0.010 to 0.05% of Al, 0.003 to 0.015% of N, 0.0005 to 0.0300% of total Mg, up to 0.025% of P, up to 0.0040% of Ti, up to 0.0015% of total oxygen, one or at least two elements selected from V, Nb and Ni in specific amounts, and having a number ratio of Mg oxides contained therein of at least 0.8.
La présente invention concerne un acier pour roulements à forte teneur en carbone et durée de vie élevée, présentant une excellente résistance à la fatigue due au roulement lorsqu'il est employé comme pièce de roulement. Cet acier contient 0,7 à 1,2 % de carbone, 0,15 à 1,7 % de silicium, 0,15 à 1,2 % de manganèse, 0,15 à 2 % de chrome, 0,05 à 1,5 de molybdène, 0,001 à 0,03 % de soufre, 0,01 à 0,05 % d'aluminium, 0,003 à 0,015 % d'azote et de 0,0005 à 0,03 % de magnésium total, pour des teneurs respectives en phosphore, titane et oxygène total n'excédant pas 0,025 %, 0,004 % et 0,0015 %, et/ou l'un au moins des éléments appartenant au groupe formé par le vanadium, le niobium et le nickel selon des proportions spécifiées, et/ou un rapport d'au moins 0,8 entre le nombre de particules d'oxyde de magnésium et le nombre total de particules d'oxydes.
