Abstract of the Disclosure There is disclosed a scroll-type machine specifically suited for use as a gaseous fluid compressor. The machine achieves improved (i.e. greater) volume/pressure ratio characteristics by causing axial compression of the fluid in addition to the conventional radial compressor thereof. Several scroll wrap profiles are also disclosed.
