A coaxial switching jack (28) with a pair of coaxial assemblies (152) mounted within a housing (116) having a pair of front cable connection locations (30) is disclosed. The coaxial assemblies each include a center conductor (154) and an outer shield conductor (156). The center conductors are connected by a first spring (148) and the shell conductors are connected by a second spring (150). Insertion of a coaxial cable connector within one of the front cable connection locations deflects the springs from the corresponding coaxial assembly and disconnects the center and shell conductors of the two assemblies. The jack may also be configured to provide an electrical connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly if a coaxial cable connector is inserted within the first coaxial assembly. The connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly may be through a resistor assembly (140) allowing for selection of a desired electrical impedance.
La présente invention concerne une prise de commutation coaxiale (28) avec une paire d'ensembles coaxiaux (152) montés à l'intérieur d'un boîtier (116) ayant une paire d'emplacements de connexion (30) de câble avant. Les ensembles coaxiaux comprennent chacun un conducteur central (154) et un conducteur à protection extérieure (156). Les conducteurs centraux sont connectés par un premier ressort (148) et les conducteurs à coque sont connectés par un second ressort (150). L'insertion d'un connecteur de câble coaxial à l'intérieur d'un des emplacements de connexion de câble avant dévie les ressorts de l'ensemble coaxial correspondant et déconnecte le centre et les conducteurs à coque des deux ensembles. La prise peut également être configurée pour réaliser une connexion électrique entre le centre et les conducteurs à coque du second ensemble coaxial si un connecteur de câble coaxial est inséré à l'intérieur du premier ensemble coaxial. La connexion entre le centre et les conducteurs à coque du second ensemble coaxial peut se faire à travers un ensemble de résistance (140) permettant la sélection de l'impédance électrique désirée.
