A high density perforating gun having a carrier housing tube and an interior charge holder tube through which are mounted zinc alloy shaped charges in a phased relationship between about 135 and 145 degrees. The 135 to 145 degree phased relationship provides for an 18 shot per foot perforating gun system. The shaped charges of selected length are inserted into the carrier housing tube and held in place by fastener rings fitted to fastener ring slots. The nose ends of the shaped charges are fitted with ears to receive a detonating cord. This positions the primer cord in tension and generally coaxially with the carrier housing tube to prevent charge interference and assure sequential detonation.

Ce canon de perforation à haute densité (11) est pourvu d'un logement porteur tubulaire (17) et d'un tube intérieur porte-charges (19) à l'intérieur duquel sont montées des charges mises en forme en alliage de zinc (27) décalées selon des angles compris entre 135 et 145 degrés. L'angle de décalage allant de 135 à 145 degrés permet d'obtenir un canon de perforation (11) groupant 18 tirs par pied. On installe les charges mises en forme (27) d'une longueur donnée dans le logement tubulaire (17) et des attaches annulaires (45) encastrées dans des rainures adaptées (53) les maintiennent en place. Les extrémités coniques des charges sont équipées de pattes (47) destinées à recevoir un cordeau détonant (49), ce qui tend le cordeau amorce (49) et le place, généralement, de manière coaxiale par rapport au logement tubulaire (17), afin d'éviter une interférence de charge et de garantir des détonations en série.
