A connector for connecting conductor areas of a flexible circuit to contact pads of a PC board edge connector in which the connector pivotably supports a pair of springs which pivot to a first position, upon insertion of a PC board through the board opening of the connector, in which frictional engagement between the PC board edge connector and the conductor areas is minimized, and, a second position during final insertion of the PC board edge connector into the connector, in which the springs provide a sufficient contact pressure for adequate electrical contact between the conductors areas of the flexible circuit and the contact pads of the PC board edge connector. The pivotable arrangement of the springs minimizes the wear and tear of the internal components and the contact pads while ensuring adequate electrical connection between the interconnected components.

Connecteur (1) servant à raccorder les zones conductrices (42) d'un circuit souple (40) aux plages de contact (64) d'un connecteur de carte à circuit imprimé et supportant, de façon pivotante, une paire de ressorts (8) pivotant vers une première position, lorsqu'on introduit une carte à circuit imprimé (60) à travers une ouverture (34) dudit connecteur (1), dans laquelle est minimisé le contact par friction entre le connecteur de carte à circuit imprimé et les zones conductrices (42) et une deuxième position pendant l'introduction finale du connecteur de carte à circuit imprimé dans le connecteur (1), dans laquelle les ressorts (8) créent une pression de contact suffisante pour réaliser un contact électrique adéquat entre les zones conductrices (42) du circuit souple (40) et les plages de contact (64) du connecteur de carte à circuit imprimé. La disposition pivotante des ressorts (8) permet de limiter l'usure des composants internes et des plages de contact (64), tout en réalisant un raccordement électrique approprié entre les composants connectés entre eux.
