A high dielectric material having a high dielectric constant which is especially useful as a material for high-capacitance capacitors is disclosed. The high dielectric material is composed of a sintered body of a rare earth sulfide which has a crystal structure of tetragonal .beta.-phase, a chemical composition of Ln2S3 (wherein Ln represents a rare earth metal), a frequency domain within the range of 0.5-1,000 kHz, and a relative dielectric constant of more than 1,000 at room temperature.
L'invention concerne un matériau à constante diélectrique élevée, particulièrement utile en tant que matériau pour condensateurs à capacité élevée. Le matériau à constante diélectrique élevée est composé d'un corps fritté à base d'un sulfure de terres rares qui présente une structure cristalline de phase .beta. tétragonale, une composition chimique de Ln¿2?S¿3? (dans laquelle Ln représente un métal des terres rares), un domaine fréquentiel s'étendant dans la plage comprise entre 0,5 et 1000 kHz et une constante diélectrique relative supérieure à 1000 à température ambiante.
