A high efficiency valuing system for a washing machine includes a three coil water valve. The valve is designed for specific flow rates for each port, with one coil controlling the hot flow, and the other two controlling the high cold flow and a low cold flow. When filling for a hot wash the hot coil and the low cold coil are energized. For warm washes, all three coils are activated. For cold washes, the two cold coils are energized.
