A multicomponent fiber comprising one component comprising non-starch thermoplastic polymer and one component comprising a thermoplastic starch. The thermoplastic polymer component can surround the thermoplastic starch component. The thermoplastic starch can contain destructured starch and plasticizer. The multicomponent fiber has a greater elongation than a monocomponent thermoplastic fiber produced with the same thermoplastic polymer component materials and under the same processing conditions. Also provided are nonwoven webs and disposable articles comprising the multicomponent fibers.
L'invention concerne une fibre multicomposée comprenant un composant contenant un polymère thermoplastique non amylacé, ainsi qu'un composant contenant de l'amidon thermoplastique, le composant polymère thermoplastique pouvant entourer le composant amylacé thermoplastique. L'amidon thermoplastique peut contenir de l'amidon déstructuré et un plastifiant. Cette fibre multicomposée présente un allongement supérieur à celui d'une fibre thermoplastique monocomposée produite à partir des mêmes matériaux que ceux du composant polymère thermoplastique et dans les mêmes conditions de traitement. L'invention concerne également des voiles non tissés et des articles jetables comprenant ce type de fibre multicomposée.
