ABSTRACT A high frequency induction heating apparatus having a heating station and transport means for moving an article to be heated through the heating station. A pair of high frequency electrical conductors are contained in the heating station and are connected to a source of high frequency electrical current such that high frequency current will flow through the conductors in mutually opposite directions. The conductors are inclined or tapered with respect to the path of movement of the article through the heating station to assure that the complete area of the article facing the conductors is heated during its movement through the station or to vary the temperature gradient of the area facing the conductors. Ferrite cores may be included on the side opposite the conductors from the article to be heated in order to increase heating of particular areas of the article.
