A high impact barrier for the exterior components of an automobile body to enable lightweight automobiles to better withstand collisions and provide a protective enclosure of the passenger compartment, accomplished by bonding precut sheets of heavy gauge SUNPRENE~ polyprene onto the outer surfaces of the body panels. Clear sheets of polyprene are also bonded to the interior and exterior windshield and rear glass surfaces, and to the outer surfaces of bumpers and headlight lenses.

Cette invention concerne une protection antichoc ultrarésistante pour carrosseries de véhicules automobiles légers qui pourront ainsi mieux résister aux collisions et mieux protéger l'habitacle. La protection est réalisée en collant des panneaux prédécoupés de polypropylène SUNPRENE de forte épaisseur sur l'extérieur de la carrosserie. Des feuilles de polypropylène transparent sont également collées sur l'intérieur et l'extérieur des pare-brise et des lunettes arrière ainsi que sur la face extérieure des pare-chocs et des phares.
